H/CAMS Crude Assay Management
This course covers all the essential topics of Haverly’s crude assay management software, H/CAMS. The two-part course will first cover the entry of lab assay data and the workup of an assay to achieve the best results from the data. The second part covers the concept of crude re-cutting and how to configure H/CAMS to obtain the best representation of product streams produced in your operations.

Day 1 - iCDM
- Assay Data Entry
- Assay Data Work-up (Smoothing)
- Reference Crudes and Crude Ranking
- Updating an Old Assay (Flash Assay)
Day 2 – Cutting Tool
- Crude Cutting: Single Assays, Blends, Groups of Assays
- Crude Cutting: Single Units, Multiple Units, Ideal and Non-ideal separation
- Product Assays
- Working with Plant Data (Yield Blend Tool)
- Interface to Other Applications
Course length: 2 1/2 days
The course includes hands-on exercises so students must bring a laptop computer with H/CAMS already installed.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for planners, process engineers, and plant engineers who regularly require good property data from crude assays. No prior experience with H/CAMS is required but recommended.
